Ingredients
  1. 1 banana
  2. sliced 1/2 of an apple diced
  3. 1-2 tablespoons of unsweetened almond butter
  4. 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  5. 1 cup of whole rolled oats (not instant)
  6. 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or any unsweetened nut milk)
  7. 1 teaspoon organic maple syrup (100% real maple syrup), or raw honey
  8. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (more or less to taste)
  9. 1/4 teaspoon high-quality vanilla extract
  10. optional walnuts
Instructions
  1. In a separate container, mix your nut milk, natural sweetener, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Set aside.
In your mason jar, layer the ingredients as follows
  1. 4-5 slices of banana, press them around the bottom edges
  2. sprinkle of diced apple
  3. 2-3 dollops of almond butter
  4. 1/2 cup oats
  5. 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  6. sprinkle of diced apple
  7. 2-3 dollops of almond butter (if using a full pint jar, repeat to create another layer. Using a half pint jar is enough for one serving)
  8. Leave a slight gap at the top after the last layer for room for the nut milk and soaking. Pour your nut milk mixture over the oats leaving a slight gap at the top to allow your oats to expand as they soak. Stick a knife or fork to the bottom of the jar a few times to make sure the milk soaks all the way through. Add walnuts if desired. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight, or at least up to 6 hours. Will keep up to four days in your refrigerator. Enjoy cold or warm through in a saucepan on the stove if you prefer.
